Business Awards

Spotcheck provides independent judging for business awards all over the island of Ireland – from local business awards to nationwide sector awards.

The judging process can include mystery shopping, written submissions judged by expert judging panels, face to face interviews and presentations.   Spotcheck judges are completely independent and their experience, business acumen and expertise provide the system with its rigor and robustness.  This is how the process normally runs.

  • Step 1

    Scope of Project

A meeting is arranged to discuss the various methods of measurement to be used, e.g. mystery visit, written submissions etc.   We will agree deadlines and dates for the entry deadlines, the return of submissions, mystery shopping visits, the judging panels and the final results.

  • Step 2

    Criteria and Entry forms

Spotcheck develop a description and criteria for each of the award categories to inform potential entrants on all categories. Each description gives details of what information is required on the entry form. An entry form for each category is created and approved by the awards committee.

  • Step 3

    Judging and Shortlisting

Judging panels made up of industry experts review the written submissions and create a shortlist for each category for the awards judged by written submission.  Mystery shoppers will visit the entrants to the mystery shopping categories, judging each entry against the set criteria.  Shortlists are drawn up based on the mystery shopping scores. Results are returned to the business award organisers within the deadline and winners are decided.

  • Step 4

    Awards Presentation

Spotcheck will provide comment from the judges and the mystery shoppers to be used as part of the award presentation event.
